About The Position

Austin Industrial is seeking a CNC Control Tech to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on various types of powered and non-powered material handling equipment. This role involves working both indoors and outdoors and requires experience with hand and power tools, along with strong mechanical aptitude. The position is responsible for the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of machine tools on-site, including CNC machines, geometrical compensation and correction, mechanical repair, sheet metal, gearboxes, ball screws, gib adjustments, and axis alignments. Electrical repairs, control logic, PLCs, VFDs, ladder logic, and component-level repairs are also key responsibilities. The CNC Control Tech will support other trades, contribute to team efforts, and maintain a fast pace with a focus on safety. The role also includes escorting vendors and subcontractors. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, as Austin Industrial is unable to sponsor employment visas.

Requirements

  • Must be experienced with hand and power tools.
  • Must have a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • 5 years related machine tool experience required.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
  • Forklift and aerial lift experience or ability to learn.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift experience helpful.
  • Associate’s degree or greater preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on various types of powered and non-powered material handling equipment.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Maintain production and distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; staging finished product for shipping.
  • Responsible for installation, repair and preventative maintenance of machine tools on site.
  • Perform tasks including but not limited to CNC machines, geometrical compensation and correction, mechanical repair, sheet metal, gearboxes, ball screws, gib adjustments, and axis alignments.
  • Perform electrical repairs, control logic, PLCs, VFDs, ladder logic, component level repairs.
  • Support other trades.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Work at a fast pace and always has safety first.
  • Escort Vendors and subcontractors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
