About The Position

The Nursing Assistant provides nursing care to patients while working cooperatively with other team members to maintain standards of care in the clinical setting. Frequent patient contact supports nurses in utilizing the nursing process.

Requirements

• For Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) work: successful completion of a Nurse Aide Training Program and maintenance of certification.
• For RN and LPN nursing students: completion of a basic nursing skills course with clinical experience as part of the curriculum.
• Postgraduate LPNs or RNs are eligible to work as non-licensed employees and may perform only tasks delegated to a non-licensed nursing employee.
• Completion of a Nurse Aide Training Program or equivalent education in non-licensed nursing assistant duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing nursing care to patients.
• Work cooperatively with other team members to maintain standards of care in the clinical setting.
• Provide frequent patient contact to assist nurses in utilizing the nursing process.
