About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise is hiring a CNA/Nursing Assistant for its Trauma Gen Surg Unit. The unit cares for patients ages 18 to over 100 who have undergone or need surgical procedures or have experienced traumatic events, and serves approximately 150–200 patients per month. The CNA supports clinical staff at the unit level by performing clerical, receptionist, and patient-service coordination. Under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse, the CNA performs nursing care and related non-professional services to meet patients’ personal needs and comfort. This is a full-time position with three 12-hour shifts, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The schedule varies and includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Certified Nursing Assistant certification issued by the State of Idaho, or completion of the Trinity Nursing Assistant Program.
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.
Knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups, as applicable: neonate, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Nice To Haves

Six months of Certified Nursing Assistant experience in an acute care setting.
