About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise is hiring a CNA/Nursing Assistant for its Trauma General Surgery Unit. The unit serves patients ages 18 to over 100 who have undergone or need surgery or have experienced a traumatic event, and sees approximately 150–200 patients per month. The CNA/Nursing Assistant supports clinical staff at the unit level by performing clerical, receptionist, and patient-service coordination duties. The role also provides nursing care and related non-professional services to meet patients’ personal needs and comfort, under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse. This is a full-time position consisting of three 12-hour day shifts per week, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The schedule varies and includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Certified Nursing Assistant certification issued by the State of Idaho, or completion of the Trinity Nursing Assistant Program.
Basic Life Support certification for Healthcare Providers from AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network, required at hire unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.
Knowledge and skills to competently care for assigned age groups: neonate, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric, as applicable.

Nice To Haves

Six months of Certified Nursing Assistant experience in an acute care setting.
