About The Position
Tidewell Hospice, part of Empath Health, is seeking a caring and motivated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide exceptional hospice care in Southwest Florida, covering the Sarasota/Venice area. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The role supports Tidewell Hospice’s mission of providing compassionate, dignified care to people with advanced illness and support for their families. The CNA provides personal care and home-maintenance activities only as specified in a written Hospice Aide Plan of Care assigned by a health professional. The CNA observes and reports unusual patient conditions, incidents, or behavior, and patient or family interactions to the patient’s nurse or supervisory nurse. The role requires working within the Hospice Aide scope of practice and maintaining confidentiality. Empath Health is a not-for-profit healthcare organization offering connected services across Florida, including hospice, home health, grief care, geriatric primary care, elder care, HIV and sexual health, and dementia support. Requirements
- Valid Florida Board of Nursing CNA certification/license.
- Valid Florida State Driver’s License.
- One to three years of training and/or experience.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience in a long-term care facility is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support and consistently carry out the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
- Perform only the personal-care and home-maintenance activities contained in a written assignment (Hospice Aide Plan of Care) by a health professional employee.
- Recognize and report unusual patient conditions, incidents, or behavior, as well as patient or family interactions, to the patient’s nurse or supervisory nurse.
- Work within the Hospice Aide scope of practice at all times.
- Maintain the utmost respect for patient and family confidentiality.
