About The Position

Provide personalized, one-on-one care to residents in homes on the organization’s Independent Living campus. The role supports residents’ independence and well-being through assistance with activities of daily living, medication reminders, transportation, and companionship. Assignments are located on campus. Full-time hours are 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with rotating weekends; PRN shifts are also listed for first, second, and third shifts. The employee must be willing to drive members and have reliable transportation.

Requirements

Active North Carolina CNA certification or currently working toward CNA certification.
First Aid and CPR certification.
Reliable transportation.
Willingness to drive members.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience working as a CNA, PCA, HHA, or RA is preferred.
Geriatric experience is preferred but not required.
Enthusiasm, compassion, and a passion for hospitality and senior engagement.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one care in residents’ homes located on campus.
Promote independent living and assist with activities of daily living so residents can remain independent as long as appropriate and possible.
Assist with dressing, bathing, meal preparation, and household tasks such as light laundry, dishes, and bed making; this may include pet care.
Assist with transportation, transfers, and ambulation as residents’ conditions warrant.
Help members make appointments when requested.
Remind members to take medication.
Facilitate exercise programs and encourage participation in campus activities.
Provide companionship during off-campus excursions, appointments, and shopping.
Observe and immediately report changes in behavior or appearance to the RN.
Perform assigned tasks in emergencies, including fires, electrical incidents, and disasters.
Submit a compliant calendar of availability to the scheduling department by the 15th of every month, with all required elements to maintain PRN status.
