About The Position

Hospice of Marion County, a member of Empath Health, is seeking a caring and motivated CNA Field to provide exceptional care in Marion County. Hospice of Marion County has served families across Ocala and Marion County since 1983 with compassionate, expert end-of-life care. As part of Empath Health, the organization helps people with advanced illness live as comfortably and meaningfully as possible while supporting their families and caregivers with respect, guidance, and dignity. This part-time position is scheduled for 24 hours per week, working 12-hour shifts from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The CNA provides physical care and practical support to patients, follows infection-control procedures, maintains patient areas, and works with hospice colleagues to support and educate patients’ caregivers and families.

Requirements

Valid Florida Board of Nursing CNA certification.
Valid Florida State Driver’s License.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Certification.

Nice To Haves

Six months of CNA experience in a hospital or long-term care skilled nursing facility is preferred.
A letter of recommendation from an instructor may be requested for candidates with no prior job experience.

Responsibilities

Provide physical care, including bathing, changing linens, feeding, assisting with ambulation and transfers, and supporting range-of-motion exercises and positioning.
Reinforce dressings as needed and follow infection-control procedures and Standard Precautions against Bloodborne Pathogens.
Perform light housekeeping in patient areas, including laundry, trash disposal, meal preparation, dishwashing, cleaning, disinfecting equipment, and replenishing supplies.
Collaborate with hospice team members to educate primary caregivers and families about physical care, disease processes, and emotional support for patients.
