Rosewalk Village Lafayette offers free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training for people interested in starting a career in compassionate resident care. No previous experience is required, but participants must be committed to caring for residents. Training includes classroom instruction and hands-on clinical work, with support from ASC instructors, nurses, and CNAs. After completing the program and testing, participants can apply for a CNA position at one of American Senior Communities’ Indiana locations. Additional pathways may be available for those who want to advance their nursing careers. The program lasts two weeks and includes 30 hours of classroom work and 45 hours of hands-on clinical training. Classes are scheduled to start August 24, 2026. The program provides a free textbook, study materials, uniform, state testing, and unlimited one-on-one time with an instructor. CNA work may include helping residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and meals; transporting, repositioning, and transferring residents; obtaining and recording vital signs and observations; responding to call lights and requests; and building supportive relationships with residents.
