Requirements

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in good standing in Wisconsin.
• Knowledge of the Home Care Bill of Rights as it applies to the CNA.
• Compassion for and commitment to hospitality, service, and excellence in senior care.
• Ability to communicate in a mode and manner understood by the resident.
• Ability to remain calm, kind, and patient during difficult circumstances and emergencies.
• Ability to set appropriate boundaries with residents and families while remaining approachable and empathetic.
• Ability to be flexible with hours, shift schedules, and assignments.

Nice To Haves

• One year of nursing assistant care experience in senior services.
• Current state department-approved medication administration certification.
• Current state department-approved CPR, First Aid, and Choking certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care, including bathing and shampooing, oral hygiene, dressing and undressing, grooming, shaving, toileting, positioning and body alignment, mobility and transfers, and other care as designated.
• Provide other assigned services, including skin and incontinence care, assistance with prosthetics, nail and foot care, functional skills, and monitoring or observing as needed.
• Perform homemaking tasks as needed according to the service plan, such as cleaning apartments, washing, folding, and putting away laundry and linens, and making beds.
• Under a nurse’s direction and supervision, administer resident medications in the prescribed dosage and at the prescribed time.
• Assist residents with dining, including eating, meal delivery, and meal cleanup as needed.
