About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant, Nursing Assistant, or Nurse Apprentice for its Trauma General Surgery Unit. The unit serves patients ages 18 to over 100 who have had or need surgery or have experienced a traumatic event, and cares for approximately 150–200 patients each month. This role supports clinical staff at the unit level through clerical, receptionist, and patient service coordination duties. It also provides nursing care and related non-professional services to meet patients’ personal needs and comfort, under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse. The schedule is three 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with flexibility required to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Hold a Certified Nursing Assistant certification issued by the State of Idaho, maintain a current Nurse Apprentice application on file with the Idaho State Board of Nursing, or complete the Trinity Nursing Assistant Program.
Have Basic Life Support certification for Healthcare Providers from AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network at hire, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.
Demonstrate knowledge and skills to competently care for assigned age groups: neonate, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric, as applicable.
Be flexible to work a varied schedule, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Six months of Certified Nursing Assistant experience in an acute care setting.
