About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant, Nursing Assistant, or Nurse Apprentice for its 21-bed ICU at a Level II Trauma Center. The unit cares for a mixed patient population requiring critical care, including patients needing neuro, medical, surgical, and trauma care. It is a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Under the direction and supervision of an RN, the position performs patient care activities and related non-professional services to meet patients’ personal needs and comfort. The schedule is three 12-hour shifts within a two-week period, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with flexibility to work weeknights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Requirements

Hold a Certified Nursing Assistant certification issued by the State of Idaho, maintain a current Nurse Apprentice application on file with the Idaho State Board of Nursing, or complete the Trinity Nursing Assistant Program.
Have Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network at hire, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned applicable age groups: neonate, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
Be flexible to work a varied schedule that includes weeknights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

Perform patient care activities and related non-professional services to meet patients’ personal needs and comfort under the direction and supervision of an RN.
Provide care to assigned patients in the ICU across applicable age groups, from neonates through geriatric patients.
