About The Position

Visiting Angels of Reading is hiring CNA Nurse Aides to provide care to clients in Shillington, Reading, Wyomissing, Lincoln Park, Kenhorst, Grill, Mohnton, and surrounding areas. The role supports clients’ quality of life and wellness in accordance with their individualized care plans. Caregivers provide personal care, companionship, mobility assistance, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and support during errands and appointments. Opportunities for advanced training in dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care are available.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 6 months of professional or personal experience caring for seniors and/or disabled adults.
Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent time-management skills and ability to manage multiple duties.
Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times.
Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while observing dietary constraints.
Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, such as background checks.
Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.

Nice To Haves

Interest in broadening caregiving skills through advanced training in dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
Plan and prepare meals with clients while observing applicable dietary constraints.
Perform light housekeeping duties.
Report health changes or unusual incidents.
Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
Transport clients using a reliable personal vehicle.
