About The Position

Visiting Angels of Reading is hiring CNA Nurse Aides to serve clients throughout Sinking Spring, Reading, Wyomissing, West Lawn, Whitfield, Colony Park, Spring Ridge, and surrounding areas. In this role, caregivers support clients’ wellness and quality of life according to individualized care plans. The position involves providing personal care, companionship, help with daily activities, and transportation or accompaniment as needed. Opportunities for advanced training in dementia and Alzheimer’s care are available.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months of experience caring for seniors and/or disabled adults, professionally or personally.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle to use when transporting clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to handle multiple duties at once.
• Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times.
• Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
• Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while following applicable dietary constraints.
• Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including a background check.
• Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten each client’s day.

Nice To Haves

• Interest in broadening caregiving skills through advanced training in dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients.
• Perform light housekeeping duties.
• Report health changes or unusual incidents.
• Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
• Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
• Assist with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
