About The Position
Mission Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Surgical Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support patient care in a 297-bed, non-profit hospital serving the Rio Grande Valley. The CNA assists patients with daily activities, mobility, feeding, and vital signs; observes and reports changes in condition; supports nurses with wound care and supplies; and helps maintain a clean, safe environment. Entry-level CNAs are welcome to apply, including candidates who have recently earned their CNA license and have no prior experience. The posting lists both day shifts and night shifts. A $3,500 sign-on bonus is available to qualified candidates; eligibility and payout terms apply, with details discussed during the interview process. Requirements
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire; required.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintained as current.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Minimum six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office is preferred, not required.
- Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within six months of hire and maintained as current, if required by the facility.

Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Help patients with mobility, including turning, repositioning, and transferring, to help prevent skin breakdown.
- Feed patients who need assistance and monitor intake and output.
- Take and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
- Observe and report changes in patients’ conditions to nurses.
- Assist with wound care under the direction of an RN.
- Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms.
- Help keep the environment clean and safe.
- Assist with transporting patients within the hospital.
