About The Position

Mission Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Surgical Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support patient care on the Med/Surg unit. The CNA assists patients with daily activities, mobility, feeding, and vital signs; observes and reports changes in patient condition; supports nurses with tasks such as wound care; maintains supplies; and helps ensure a clean, safe environment. Entry-level CNAs are welcome to apply. The position is full-time, day shift, at Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission, Texas.

Requirements

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintained as current.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

• At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office is preferred.
• Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within six months of hire and maintained as current, if required by the facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
• Help patients with mobility, including turning, repositioning, and transferring, to prevent skin breakdown.
• Feed patients who need assistance and monitor intake and output.
• Take and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
• Observe and report changes in patients’ conditions to nurses.
• Assist with wound care under the direction of an RN.
• Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms.
• Help maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Assist with transporting patients within the hospital.
