About The Position

As a CNA Hospice Aide, you provide compassionate, hands-on care to hospice patients and support for their families during end-of-life care. The role focuses on helping patients with daily living activities while promoting comfort, dignity, and emotional well-being. Working with the hospice care team, you provide respectful, individualized care in accordance with each patient’s care plan and written instructions prepared by a registered nurse.

Requirements

• Current state certification or registration as a nurse assistant (CNA), consistent with state requirements.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.

Nice To Haves

• CNA experience within the last two years.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services to patients.
• Use safety principles and proper body mechanics when assisting with ambulation, transfers, range of motion, positioning, and other supportive care.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as assigned.
• Perform homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observe, report, and document changes in a patient’s status; report to the primary nurse if unable to perform a task.
• Follow written personal-care instructions prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the care plan, receiving the instructions before providing services.
• Assist patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by a nurse or therapist.
• Perform and record simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
