About The Position

Amedisys is hiring a full-time hospice aide for day shifts serving the East Montgomery County and East Bucks County area. The role provides personal and supportive care to hospice patients in their homes. Home health or hospice experience within the last 12 months is preferred. A current Pennsylvania CNA license is required. Compensation is $23 per hour, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Compensation may vary based on location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification or registration as a nurse assistant, according to state requirements; a Pennsylvania CNA license is required.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.

Nice To Haves

• Home health or hospice experience within the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services to patients.
• Use safety principles and proper body mechanics while assisting with ambulation, transfers, range of motion, positioning, and household chores.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as assigned.
• Perform homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observe, report, and document changes in a patient's status; report to the primary nurse if unable to perform a task.
• Follow written personal-care instructions prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care, received before services are delivered.
• Assist patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by a nurse or therapist.
• Perform and record simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
