About The Position

Allegro Harrington Park is hiring a compassionate CNA, CHHA, Caregiver, or Resident Assistant to support seniors in its Assisted Living and Memory Care community in Harrington Park, New Jersey. The Resident Assistant provides direct resident care under the supervision of the Resident Care Director, Supervisor-in-Charge, and/or licensed nursing personnel. The role helps maintain a safe, comfortable, and positive physical and social environment while supporting residents’ daily care needs, dignity, independence, and quality of life. The position assists residents with activities of daily living, responds to emergency calls, supports dining and daily routines, observes and reports changes in condition, maintains required documentation, and communicates professionally with residents, families, coworkers, and visitors. Part-time and every-other-weekend shifts are available, including first shift, second shift, and PRN scheduling. Competitive pay and same-day pay options are advertised. Walk-in interviews are held Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age; state-specific guidelines may apply.
Must have and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
Must meet applicable state certification and licensure requirements.
Must pass required background screening, health screening, and drug-free workplace requirements.
Must have reliable transportation.
Where required, must have a valid driver’s license, an acceptable motor vehicle record, and insurability by the community’s automobile insurance carrier.
General understanding of and concern for the needs of seniors.
Ability to work well with others and promote a team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a healthcare, hospitality, senior living, or service environment is preferred.
CNA certification is preferred; a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) certificate may be accepted. CNA certification may be required in some states.
Experience or aptitude working with Alzheimer’s disease and memory-impaired residents is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, positioning, transfers, mobility, and incontinence care.
Prepare residents for meals, snacks, and activities; support dining-room service, including serving meals and clearing tables.
Respond promptly to resident emergency call systems and requests for assistance.
Observe, document, and report changes in residents’ condition to the appropriate supervisor or designee.
Communicate courteously and professionally with residents, family members, team members, and visitors.
Maintain required resident care documentation in accordance with state regulations and Allegro Living policies and procedures.
Assist with resident transportation when required.
Follow safety, sanitation, infection-control, residents’ rights, confidentiality, and HIPAA requirements.
Assist with light cleaning and laundry in resident rooms, offices, and common areas as needed.
Attend required meetings and in-service training sessions in accordance with state guidelines.
Maintain a professional appearance, participate in training, and provide courteous service that supports positive resident and family experiences.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
