About The Position

Under supervision, the CNA provides direct resident care, assists with activities of daily living, and helps maintain a safe environment for residents. The role supports individualized, restorative care and encourages residents to participate in meeting their own needs, activities, council meetings, and family involvement. The position is located at PCH-IL in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on the PM—2nd shift.

Requirements

CNA certification.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Read, write, and speak English.
Maintain complete confidentiality and discretion.

Responsibilities

Provide or assist with total resident care, including bed baths, tub baths, showers, perineal care, dental and personal grooming, dressing and undressing, and assisting with hearing aids and eyeglasses.
Meet residents’ elimination needs, including changing protective padding, offering bedpans or urinals, assisting residents to the bathroom, and providing Foley catheter care.
Ambulate, transfer, and position residents using assistive devices such as walkers, wheelchairs, Hoyer lifts, gait belts, or lift sheets.
Respond promptly to all call lights.
Encourage residents’ active participation in individualized, restorative care, activities, council meetings, and family involvement.
Take and record temperatures, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and weights.
Prepare meals, feed or assist residents with meals, serve and remove trays, and encourage use of adaptive devices.
Measure and record intake and output as required.
Pass nourishments and encourage hydration and balanced food intake.
Observe residents and report relevant changes in behavior or physical condition to the charge nurse.
Explain procedures to residents before carrying them out.
