About The Position
The Certified Nurse’s Aide assists licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living for residents at Freedom Village Bradenton. The role includes helping residents with personal care, carrying out instructed treatments and procedures, documenting observations, and supporting residents’ safety, independence, and participation in activities and rehabilitation.
Requirements
- Successful completion of a state-approved geriatric nursing assistant training program.
- Registration with the State registry is required.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
- Ability to document care given.
- CPR/BLS Certification.
Nice To Haves
- Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting, and exercising.
- Give treatments, perform tests, carry out procedures, and collect specimens as instructed.
- Report and record observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures, and specimens when indicated.
- Transfer, transport, and escort residents as needed.
- Answer signal lights promptly.
- Change bed linens, make beds, and keep rooms clean and orderly.
- Maintain safe and sanitary workstations and equipment.
- Encourage independence, attendance at activities, restorative programs, and rehabilitation.
- Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
- Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by a supervisor.
