About The Position

Adoration Hospice is seeking a dedicated Hospice CNA to provide compassionate care to patients and support to their families in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The role covers Hamilton, Marion, and Sequatchie Counties and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hospice CNAs provide personal care, comfort, and dignity to patients, working independently while receiving support from the hospice team.

Requirements

• Meet the training requirements of the state of practice.
• Have at least six months of experience, including providing personal care.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Complete at least 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training; 16 classroom hours must be completed before the required 16 hours of practical training.
• Possess and maintain current CPR certification in states where required.
• Be able to read and follow written instructions and document care provided.
• Understand hospice philosophy and be comfortable providing specialized care to terminally ill patients.
• Be able to work with little direct supervision.
• Be able to handle death and dying.
• Have strong oral and written communication skills.
• Have good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Help patients with bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and repositioning.
• Observe and report changes in patients’ conditions.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, range-of-motion exercises, and safe equipment use.
• Assist with self-administered medications in accordance with state regulations.
• Provide companionship and emotional comfort to patients and families.
• Change linens, assist with meals, and maintain a clean environment.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Collaborate with the hospice interdisciplinary team.
