About The Position

This Opportunity WSP is currently seeking a Construction Materials Testing Lab Technician to support various projects in the Atlanta, GA area. Your Impact Perform lab classification and index property testing of soils Perform density testing of soils Sample and test concrete in the field and lab Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of testing data Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications Will travel within and around 2 hours of the city Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment. Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives. Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools. Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of related experience on variety of complex projects preferred
  • Certifications might include a combination of ICC soils, ACI concrete, ICC concrete reinforcing steel, and ICC masonry.
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Reliability – must be able to arrive at designated project sites prior to scheduled times
  • Ability to prepare reports and documentation
  • Ability to travel and work overtime as needed
  • Ability to work in variable outside conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
