About The Position

This course teaches students advanced legal writing skills. Students learn to write in different styles and to tailor their writing to different readers. Students will reflect on their writing choices and use those reflections to choose writing techniques and effective strategies for the future. Students will also learn to provide peer feedback to other students, and they will practice guiding those students to make great writing choices.

Requirements

  • A LL.B. or J.D. from a Canadian law school or equivalent is required for this position.
  • Membership in the Law Society of Ontario, or equivalent, in good standing is an asset.
  • The successful candidate will have significant experience in teaching legal writing skills and in teaching students to provide mentorship and feedback to their peers.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level and at law schools will be considered an asset.
