About The Position

McFarland Clinic is accepting applications for a CMA, LPN, or RN in its Adult Medicine department in Ames. Candidates should be service-oriented team players who can provide extraordinary care to patients. This is a part-time role scheduled for Tuesdays, with the remaining days of the week covered through a job share. Hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Clinic and EMR experience are preferred. Employment is conditional on passing a pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background checks.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or an accredited school of nursing.
• For Medical Assistants: certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or certification as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from American Medical Technologists (AMT), NAHP, NCCT, or NHA.
• For LPNs: hold a current state Licensed Practical Nurse license.
• For RNs: hold a current state Registered Nurse license.
• Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers.
• Be service-oriented and a team player.
• Pass pre-employment drug screening and criminal history background checks.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients in person, through MyChart, and by phone.
• Room patients.
• Take patient vital signs.
• Process medication refills.
• Handle medication prior authorizations.
