About The Position

McFarland Clinic is accepting applications for a Phlebotomist in its Ames Lab department. The role collects and receives specimens for testing, prepares and dispatches specimens, and collects blood samples using venipuncture, heel stick, and finger stick. It also includes obtaining urine and other patient specimens, receptionist and clerical duties, stocking and maintaining supplies, keeping the work area clean, attending required meetings, participating on committees as requested, and performing related work as required. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, with occasional Fridays and a Saturday rotation, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, for 32 hours per week. The position offers clinic pay and a benefits package. A pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background check are conditions of hire.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or HiSET.
• Formal training and/or experience in phlebotomy.
• Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers.
• Mandatory Reporting of Dependent Adult and Child Abuse.
• Computer skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment.
• Medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in Phlebotomy is preferred.
