About The Position

The Iowa Clinic is a locally owned and physician-led healthcare organization serving Central Iowa. The CMA/LPN/RN - Dermatology provides professional nursing services for patients of assigned physicians, following established nursing practice standards and medical office procedures. The role includes assessing patients’ care needs, supporting providers with triage and initial care planning, returning patient calls, and helping patients feel valued and cared for. The position also trains and serves as backup for Mohs surgery histology as needed. The schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; the posting notes there are no night shifts.

Requirements

Be a licensed RN or LPN by the State of Iowa, or a Certified Medical Assistant.
Knowledge of nursing techniques, procedures, medical diagnoses, and treatments.
Exceptional patient skills.
Ability to prepare and maintain records.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to assist physicians in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

Provide professional nursing services for patients of assigned physicians in accordance with established nursing practice standards and medical office procedures.
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ care needs.
Assist providers with patient triage, identify nursing diagnoses or problem lists, and formulate an initial plan of care based on assessment data.
Listen to patients and get to know them.
Train and serve as backup for Mohs surgery histology as needed.
Return patient calls and help ensure patients feel valued and cared for.
Assist physicians in a professional manner.
