About The Position

As a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic, CNS Healthcare's mission is to serve the people of our communities. Our team of Drivers provides transportation services to the individuals that we serve to various destinations throughout the day. Compensation Range: The pay range for this position is $16.00 to $21.00 per hour and is based on non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience. Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
• A minimum of 1 year of transportation services experience
• Valid Michigan Operator or CDL (Driver's) license
• Reliable transportation with proof of insurance
• Must have an excellent driving record
• No more than 1 moving violation within the past 12 months
• No operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated or impaired by consumption due to alcohol or illegal drugs within the past 8 years
• No suspended, revoked, or expired license within the past 5 years
• No more than 2 points on current driving record
• Ability to use a wheelchair lift
• Intermediate level experience with computers and Microsoft office products
• Ability to work closely with persons with mental or physical limitations.
• Ability to drive safely in all types of weather and road conditions
• Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and courteously
• Ability to use discretion and judgement when handling matters of a sensitive or confidential nature
• Intermediate time management, problem solving, customer service, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
• Intermediate collaboration and team working skills
• Ability to be forward thinking and take initiative to accomplish goals and objectives of the department

Responsibilities

• Transports persons served to various locations throughout the day.
• Performs other driving duties and other miscellaneous clerical and office duties.
• Performs driving duties, other miscellaneous Clubhouse operational, office and kitchen duties when needed
• Reviews daily schedule and helps fellow drivers when not busy.
• Drives to and arrives at destinations as scheduled.
• Notifies agency staff and consumer when running late.
• Participate in and promote departmental and agency quality improvement initiatives.
• Contacts consumer and agency in the event of a delay through the use of the company phone.
• Maintains a helpful and courteous attitude when interacting with consumers, visitors, and agency personnel.
• Adheres to the posted speed limits and all State of Michigan laws that apply to motor vehicles.
• Assists clients in and out of the van.
• Maneuvers wheelchairs on and off the van lift.
• Maintains and checks the fluid/gasoline levels in all vehicles.
• Provides weekly reports to the department supervisor.
• Performs miscellaneous Clubhouse duties as assigned when not driving.
• When not driving, Works as team to assure Clubhouse is clean, welcoming and a safe place for members, visitors and employees. (siting and waiting for something to do between transport times, while on the clock, is not an option.)
