About The Position

The Club Director at Norwood Elementary in Knoxville, TN, is responsible for the overall daily operations of the designated Club. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization, planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.
  • Proven history in staff supervision and facilities management.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Group leadership skills with a knowledge of group dynamics.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, attention to details, and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to recruit and train staff.
  • Conflict resolution and disciplinary skills.
  • Working knowledge of budget preparation, control, and management.
  • Potential to obtain a minimum of a Class C-CDL with PS endorsement as required to drive a bus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage overall daily operations of the designated Club, with a primary concern for programs and service delivery, supervision and training of staff, facilities management, community relations, and membership administration.
  • Manage employee timesheets, missed punch requests, and time off requests.
  • Manage performance evaluations and charts of work for direct reports.
  • Create well-developed and measurable charts of work for direct reports.
  • Provide on-going and constructive performance feedback at least quarterly with direct reports.
  • Complete formal performance feedback at least twice a year.
  • Document performance issues appropriately in consultation with supervisors and HR.
  • Resolve conflicts in a timely and ethical manner.
  • Conduct objective performance reviews.
  • Delegate assignments and tasks appropriately.
  • Encourage innovation and reward teamwork; address lack of teamwork.
  • Monitor employee attendance and dependability through quarterly reports and address issues.
  • Consistently administer policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
  • Schedule regular staff meetings (at least quarterly) and conduct bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with direct reports.
  • Establish Unit or Branch programs, activities, and services that prepare youth for success and implement the Youth Development Strategy.
  • Ensure a healthy and safe environment, maintaining facilities, equipment, and supplies.
  • Oversee the provision of day-to-day program activities in accordance with established standards and goals.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate Unit or Branch overall programs, services, and activities to ensure they meet stated objectives and member needs and interests.
  • Manage all grant reporting and implementation.
  • Manage Unit or Branch financial resources, assisting in the development of annual budgets.
  • Control expenditures against budget.
  • Ensure administrative and operational systems are in place for the maintenance of physical properties and equipment, including facility use by outside groups.
  • Ensure compliance with organization policies.
  • Recruit, manage, and provide career development opportunities for branch staff and volunteers.
  • Develop partnerships with parents, community leaders, and organizations.
  • Obtain or possess a CDL Bus License within 90 days of obtaining the position (as needed).
