The Police Athletic League (PAL) of New York City is seeking COMPASS School Program Directors to manage out-of-school programming embedded within a New York City public school or PAL Center. These locations may serve Elementary through High School youth through various programming including SEL, STEM, Literacy, Sports, Arts, Mental Health, and College and Career Access. The Elementary Afterschool Program Director is a key on-site supervisor responsible for managing all programming, as well as relationships with youth, parents, the school community, and the broader community. This role requires creativity in programming, strong supervisory skills, and talent development abilities. Familiarity with SACC regulations and DYCD funding requirements is a plus. The Director will partner with various city agencies and community organizations, focusing on listening, problem-solving, and building partnerships to expand opportunities for NYC’s youth. Candidates must be dedicated to learning and implementing Best Practices in youth development, be able to support programming during days, evenings, and weekends, and support the ideas and opportunities of youth, staff, and the community. Excellent communication and listening skills are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively as part of a city-wide team.
