About The Position

Waste Connections is hiring local CDL garbage truck drivers in Shenandoah, Iowa. The company provides the truck and training to support employees’ careers as CDL drivers and pays for their CDL. Drivers safely operate garbage trucks on assigned routes to collect solid waste, service the customers listed on route sheets or assigned by dispatch, inspect vehicles before and after routes, and interact professionally and courteously with customers as needed. The role also includes other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. until 2–3 p.m., with occasional Saturdays. Pay is $20–$25 per hour.

Requirements

• CLP or a valid Class A or Class B CDL.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• One year of local route driving experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
• Read route sheets and service each customer listed or assigned by the dispatcher.
• Perform routine pre-route and post-route vehicle inspections, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
• Interact professionally and courteously with customers when needed.
• Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
