About The Position

Waste Connections is hiring a local CDL garbage truck driver in Shenandoah, Iowa. The role involves safely operating a garbage truck on assigned routes to collect solid waste and providing courteous service to customers. The company provides a truck and training to support career development and pays for the CDL. The position pays $20–$25 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Friday, starting at 6 a.m. and ending around 2–3 p.m., with occasional Saturdays.

Requirements

• A CLP or valid Class A or Class B CDL.
• A clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• One year of local route driving experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
• Read route sheets and service each customer listed or assigned by the dispatcher.
• Perform routine pre-route and post-route vehicle inspections, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
• Interact professionally and courteously with customers when needed.
• Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
