Cloud Operations Manager (GCP)

As the Cloud Operations Manager at Branch, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of the company's cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Your role will involve designing, implementing, and managing the cloud architecture, collaborating with development and security teams, and ensuring the seamless functioning of mission-critical systems. You will lead a team of operations professionals, handle incident management, optimize performance, and implement automation and scalability measures. Additionally, you will collaborate with various teams to align cloud operations with business objectives and mentor junior members of the cloud operations team.

• Design, implement, and manage the cloud architecture on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Collaborate with development and architecture teams to optimize cloud utilization and resource allocation
• Implement best practices for security, compliance, and data protection in the cloud environment
• Lead incident response and resolution efforts, minimizing downtime and impact on services
• Develop and maintain incident management processes and protocols
• Conduct post-incident reviews to identify root causes and implement preventive measures
• Manage incidents and problems, taking corrective action to prevent recurrence
• Implement monitoring tools and strategies to ensure performance and availability of fintech applications
• Identify performance bottlenecks and areas for optimization, working with cross-functional teams to address them
• Stay up-to-date on the latest cloud computing technologies and trends
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline operational tasks and workflows
• Scale infrastructure to accommodate growing user demands while maintaining performance and reliability
• Plan, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Collaborate with engineering, development, and security teams to align cloud operations with business objectives
• Mentor and guide junior members of the cloud operations team
• Communicate effectively across the organization to ensure alignment and understanding of cloud-related initiatives.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
• Experience in managing cloud infrastructure, specifically on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Strong knowledge of incident management processes and protocols
• Proficiency in implementing best practices for security, compliance, and data protection in the cloud environment
• Experience in performance monitoring and optimization of fintech applications
• Familiarity with automation tools and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, development, and security teams
• Strong communication and mentoring skills
