About The Position

Deloitte is hiring a Cloud Network Engineer for its Engineering and Product, Cloud Integrated Infrastructure team in Dallas, Texas. This client-facing role is part of the Project Delivery Talent Model, which supports long-term, onsite client service delivery with limited travel. The engineer will help financial services clients transform their cloud environments by designing, implementing, and operating secure, resilient network platforms across AWS, Google Cloud, and on-premises infrastructure. The role follows a “you build it, you run it” approach and focuses on building, automating, and optimizing foundational cloud network infrastructure and services. The engineer will design multi-cloud network architectures; establish hybrid connectivity; develop infrastructure as code and automation; configure cloud network services and security controls; and take ownership of platform reliability, performance, monitoring, and incident response. The role also includes maintaining technical documentation, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with engagement managers, project teams, and other functional and technical groups. Travel averages 10%, depending on the work and clients served. The estimated Texas compensation range is $84,600–$141,000, with potential eligibility for a discretionary annual incentive program.

  • Experience with container networking, including Kubernetes CNI and service mesh implementations.
  • Working knowledge of financial services compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS, NIST, and ISO 27001.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage AWS and GCP network architectures, including VPC/VNet design, subnetting, routing, IP addressing, and network segmentation.
  • Establish and maintain secure, high-performance connectivity between on-premises data centers and cloud environments using Direct Connect, Cloud Interconnect, VPNs, and SD-WAN integration.
  • Develop and maintain cloud network infrastructure as code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and GCP Deployment Manager, including reusable modules and deployment blueprints.
  • Configure and manage DNS routing, load balancing, API gateways, and content delivery networks.
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud network resources; develop tools and scripts in Python, Go, or Bash.
  • Own the reliability, performance, and availability of cloud network platforms; implement monitoring, alerting, and logging, and participate in on-call rotations for incident response.
  • Implement network security controls and best practices, including NACLs, security groups, cloud firewalls, and network intrusion detection and prevention systems.
  • Create and maintain documentation for network architectures, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across cross-functional delivery teams.
  • Maintain attention to detail and quality, build professional relationships, prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and provide clear guidance to others.
