About The Position

Deloitte is hiring an experienced Cloud Network Engineer in its Engineering and Product, Cloud Integrated Infrastructure organization. The role supports financial services clients’ cloud transformation by designing, implementing, and operating complex network architectures across AWS and Google Cloud Platform, integrating public cloud environments with on-premises infrastructure. It follows a “you build it, you run it” approach, with responsibility for scalable, resilient, secure, and well-operated cloud network platforms. The position is part of Deloitte’s Project Delivery Talent Model, tailored to long-term, onsite client service delivery, and involves client-facing technical work with limited travel.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of dedicated professional network engineering experience, with a strong focus on large-scale public cloud adoption.
  • Expert-level understanding of AWS and GCP, particularly internet application hosting, network segmentation, packet mirroring, and high availability and resiliency.
  • Strong experience with B2B connectivity patterns, third-party architecture integrations, AWS PrivateLink, Google Cloud Private Service Connect, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
  • Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP and other routing protocols, firewalls, and network security principles.
  • Demonstrable experience building CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, Harness, Tekton, or Jenkins.
  • Proficiency in Python and Go, and practical experience with test automation frameworks such as Terratest, Cucumber, Pytest-BDD, AWS Fault Injection Simulator, or Chaos Mesh.
  • Familiarity with Agile development, DevOps, and SRE practices, and the ability to translate complex requirements into consistent service offerings.
  • Adaptability, strategic thinking, exceptional teamwork, strong interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, network engineering, or a related technical discipline, and/or equivalent professional experience.
  • Ability to travel an average of 10%, potentially including overnight travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Active public cloud network certifications, such as AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty or Google Cloud Professional Network Engineer.
  • Experience with advanced network security tools, including DDoS protection and sophisticated network intrusion detection and prevention systems.
  • Familiarity with network virtualization and SDN concepts, plus container networking such as Kubernetes CNI and service mesh implementations.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial services compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS, NIST, and ISO 27001.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage multi-cloud network architectures across AWS and GCP, including VPC/VNet design, subnetting, routing, IP addressing, and network segmentation.
  • Establish and maintain secure, high-performance hybrid connectivity between on-premises data centers and cloud environments using Direct Connect, Cloud Interconnect, VPNs, and SD-WAN integration.
  • Develop and optimize cloud network infrastructure as code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and GCP Deployment Manager, including reusable modules and deployment blueprints.
  • Configure and manage network services such as DNS routing, load balancing, API gateways, and content delivery networks.
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud network resources; develop operational scripts and tools using Python, Go, or Bash.
  • Own the reliability, performance, and availability of cloud network platforms; implement monitoring, alerting, and logging, and participate in on-call rotations for incident response.
  • Implement network security controls, including NACLs, security groups, cloud firewalls, and network intrusion detection and prevention systems, to support regulatory compliance.
  • Create and maintain architecture, configuration, and operational documentation; mentor junior engineers and share knowledge with cross-functional delivery teams.
  • Maintain careful attention to detail and quality, build professional relationships, prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and provide clear guidance.
  • Communicate regularly with Engagement Managers, project team members, and functional or technical representatives, escalating matters requiring additional attention.
  • Travel an average of 10%, potentially including overnight travel.

Benefits
