About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to join our team. This role involves assessing current capabilities, identifying opportunities to enhance DevOps adoption, and developing strategies for transitioning applications and capabilities to cloud environments. You will analyze existing systems to pinpoint data migration, software modification, and legal, security, and compliance requirements for cloud transformation. Collaboration with System Administrators is key for planning and executing daily technical activities supporting cloud conversion and system operations. You will utilize your expertise in Ansible and other automation tools to streamline system administration, deployment, and operational tasks. This includes planning, testing, and deploying system security patches, kernel updates, and software upgrades. You will also be involved in the design, development, and testing of software changes for cloud transitions, ensuring seamless integration into cloud environments while optimizing performance, reliability, automation, and resource utilization. Our technology stack includes AWS, Ansible, Docker, ElasticSearch, Terraform, Jenkins, Linux, Windows, and GitLab.

Responsibilities

  • Assess existing capabilities and identify opportunities to expand DevOps adoption.
  • Develop effective approaches for transitioning applications and capabilities into cloud environments.
  • Analyze existing capabilities to identify data migration, software modification, legal, security, and compliance requirements associated with cloud transformation efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with System Administrators to plan, prioritize, and coordinate day-to-day technical activities supporting cloud conversion and system operations.
  • Leverage experience with Ansible and other automation and configuration management tools to streamline system administration, deployment, and operational tasks.
  • Plan, test, and deploy system security patches, kernel updates, and software upgrades using established patch management and configuration management tools.
  • Engage in the design, development, and testing of software changes required to transition capabilities to the cloud, adhering to the approach and technical direction selected.
  • Develop, test, and coordinate deployment plans to implement application and infrastructure changes seamlessly within cloud environments.
  • Apply cloud engineering expertise to integrate modified capabilities into cloud environments while optimizing system performance, reliability, automation, and resource utilization.
