About The Position

GCI is seeking a Cloud Engineer (Software Engineer) to design, develop, deploy, and maintain cloud-based systems and solutions. The role includes developing software, supporting cloud infrastructure and application deployments, identifying vulnerabilities and resolving issues, and reviewing systems for improvements and cost efficiencies. The engineer will work with clients to provide cloud support and recommendations based on customer needs, while following customer best practices and guidance. The position requires U.S. citizenship and an active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship.
• Active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
• Experience developing software using languages such as Java, Python, C++, or Ruby.
• Excellent programming skills to ensure proper interpretation and implementation of code.
• Experience with AWS services and platforms, including S3, RDS, EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, and CloudFormation; Docker; and Ansible.
• Documented experience with open-source technology, software development, and system engineering.
• Demonstrated experience using DevOps tools such as GitHub and Jenkins to enable continuous integration and continuous delivery.
• Demonstrated experience working with an Agile Scrum-based development team.
• Strong understanding of web services, APIs, and REST.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with the Assessment & Authorization process and associated artifact collection process.
• Ability to troubleshoot and support COTS and GOTS applications within a Windows/Azure-hosted environment.

Responsibilities
