About The Position

GCI is seeking a Cloud Engineer (Software Engineer) to develop and maintain cloud solutions in support of customer needs and mission requirements. The role involves designing, developing, and deploying modular cloud-based systems; working with cloud platforms, software development, and system engineering; and supporting continuous integration and continuous delivery. The engineer will help identify and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues, review existing systems for improvements and cost efficiencies, and interact with clients to provide cloud support and recommendations. The position requires U.S. citizenship and an active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship.
• Active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
• Ability to design, develop, and deploy modular cloud-based systems.
• Experience developing software using languages such as Java, Python, C++, or Ruby.
• Excellent programming skills to ensure proper interpretation and implementation of code.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services, including services such as S3, RDS, EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, and CloudFormation; Docker; and Ansible.
• Documented experience with open-source technology, software development, and system engineering.
• Demonstrated experience using DevOps tools such as GitHub and Jenkins to enable continuous integration and continuous delivery.
• Demonstrated experience working with an Agile Scrum-based development team.
• Strong understanding of web services, APIs, and REST.
