About The Position

GDIT is seeking a Cloud Engineer to develop, design, and deploy modular cloud-based systems and identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues. The role supports customer needs by developing and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with customer best practices and guidance, providing cloud support, and making recommendations. The position is onsite at the customer location in Herndon, Virginia, and requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph and U.S. citizenship.

Requirements

Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree.
At least 6 years of related experience.
U.S. citizenship required.
Must currently possess a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
Experience developing software using languages such as Java, Python, C++, or Ruby.
Strong programming skills to interpret and implement code correctly.
Experience with AWS services, including S3, RDS, EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, and CloudFormation; Docker; and Ansible.
Documented experience with open-source technology, software development, and systems engineering.
Demonstrated experience using DevOps tools such as GitHub and Jenkins for continuous integration and continuous delivery.
Demonstrated experience working with an Agile Scrum-based development team.
Strong understanding of web services, APIs, and REST.

Responsibilities

Develop, design, and deploy modular cloud-based systems.
Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
Review existing systems regularly and recommend improvements and cost efficiencies.
Develop and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with customer best practices and guidance.
Work with an Agile Scrum-based development team.
Interact with clients, provide cloud support, and make recommendations based on customer needs.
Use DevOps tools to enable continuous integration and continuous delivery.
