About The Position

GCI is seeking a Cloud Engineer (Software Engineer) to design, develop, deploy, and maintain modular cloud-based systems. The engineer will work with cloud platforms, software development, and system engineering practices to deliver solutions in accordance with customer best practices and guidance. The role includes supporting clients, resolving infrastructure and application deployment issues, reviewing systems for improvements and cost efficiencies, and working with an Agile Scrum development team. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and hold an active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship.
• Active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
• Experience developing software using languages such as Java, Python, C++, or Ruby.
• Excellent programming skills to interpret and implement code properly.
• Experience with AWS services and platforms, including S3, RDS, EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, and CloudFormation.
• Experience with Docker and Ansible.
• Documented experience with open-source technology, software development, and system engineering.
• Demonstrated experience using DevOps tools such as GitHub and Jenkins for continuous integration and continuous delivery.
• Demonstrated experience working with an Agile Scrum-based development team.
• Strong understanding of web services, APIs, and REST.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy modular cloud-based systems.

• Review existing systems regularly and recommend improvements and cost efficiencies.

• Interact with clients, provide cloud support, and make recommendations based on customer needs.
