About The Position

The Closing Verification Specialist acts as a key contributor to facilitate efficient and effective processes that support business and customer service objectives. As the Specialist, your responsibilities may be limited within a specific function/channel or across functions/channels. The Closing Verification Specialist will: Perform routine data entry and validation tasks Initiate third party orders (title, appraisal, hazard, flood cert, credit, etc.) Review and validate loan documents Monitor work queues and intervene as needed Interact with multiple departments to expedite processing and/or issue resolution Perform other related duties as required and assigned Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values Calling banks and title companies/ verifying information/ verifying accounts/ when a loan goes through refi or purchase, will need to verify money is going to correct account or going to the right title companies/ calling lawyers to make sure funds are going to correct people and places/ fraud prevention/ customer service, 50% of the day calling out to companies/ a lot of accounts are on east coast, so will be starting work earlier at 7:30am/ in the afternoon, will start putting title packages together (data entry) Key Responsibilities: Verify wiring instructions with financial institutions and closing agents (title companies, attorneys, escrow officers). Conduct outbound calls to banks and closing agents to confirm insurance status and request proof of coverage. Research and validate closing companies, including reviewing bank statements and other financial documents. Assemble and maintain closing verification packets with high accuracy and attention to detail. Utilize Excel to track and manage verification data efficiently.

Requirements

  • Self-starter – proactive in identifying tasks and taking initiative without constant supervision.
  • Persistent and patient – able to follow up consistently while maintaining professionalism.
  • Quick learner – eager to absorb new information and adapt to changing processes.
  • Organized note-taker – keeps thorough records of calls, verifications, and follow-ups.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computers and mainstream computer applications (Microsoft, Google, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Recent college graduates with strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Candidates with prior experience in banking, title, escrow, or mortgage operations.
  • Financial Services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred
  • General understanding of applicable Federal, State and Local regulations
