The Clinician provides quality, confidential healthcare in compliance with state law, licensure and scope of practice, PPGNHAIK medical standards and guidelines, organizational protocols, and current evidence-based standards of care. The role works under the supervision and direction of an assigned Lead Clinician or Clinician Manager and partners with the Health Center Manager to optimize workflow, efficiency, quality of care, patient experience, and operational performance. The role is considered 100% clinical unless the Clinician Manager specifically assigns administrative duties. Clinicians examine, screen, diagnose, and treat patients, including for reproductive health concerns such as preventive care, contraception, sexually transmitted infections, pregnancy, gender-affirming hormone care, and common gynecological conditions. They follow up on abnormal findings and test results when designated, recognize and respond to clinical emergencies, and consult or refer when cases exceed their scope or affiliate protocols require it. Clinicians document care and charges in the electronic health record, support revenue-cycle functions, and meet clinician productivity benchmarks. The Clinician serves as a clinical resource and day-to-day leader in the health center, working collaboratively with the health care team and delegating to support staff as permitted by state regulations. The role may include participation in education and updating meetings, research projects affecting medical functions, and professional development. Clinicians at level 2 and above may precept and mentor newly hired clinicians and, with approval, external learners. Additional skills and advancement opportunities depend on the clinician’s skills and engagement as well as organizational business needs, and may not be available at every location. Each Clinician has a designated health center home. Some clinicians may have a split assignment with predictable scheduled care at multiple locations; Float Clinicians work at multiple sites as assigned, with assignments that may not be predictable or consistent. The position is full-time and non-exempt. The schedule is determined around health center needs. The Fairbanks health center is closed Sunday, Monday, and Saturday; it is open Tuesday 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., and Friday 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. The Alaska salary range is $46.09–$98.87. Starting pay depends on factors including relevant experience, education, internal equity, geographic location, and the budgeted hiring range. The position is eligible for PPGNHAIK benefits, including medical, dental, and vision plans, retirement, paid time off, short- and long-term disability, and life insurance. Employees must present proof of receiving a current flu shot before their first day of employment.
