Planned Parenthood•Lexington, KY

About The Position

Under the supervision and direction of the assigned Lead Clinician or Clinician Manager, the Clinician provides quality care to patients in compliance with state law, affiliate medical standards and guidelines, organizational protocols, and current evidence-based standards of care. The Clinician works with the Health Center Manager to optimize workflow and efficiency and meet organizational performance metrics. The role is considered 100% clinical unless the Clinician Manager specifically requests otherwise; occasional administrative duties may be assigned as needed. Clinicians provide confidential, compassionate, professional, and culturally competent healthcare within their state-defined licensure and scope of practice. Care includes evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of reproductive health concerns such as preventive care, contraception, sexually transmitted infections, pregnancy, gender-affirming hormone care, and common gynecological conditions. Clinicians may be assigned a level on the clinician ladder based on demonstrated clinical proficiency. Clinicians at level 2 and above may precept and mentor new clinicians and, with approval, external learners. Opportunities to develop additional clinical skills depend on the clinician’s qualifications and organizational needs and may not be available at every location. Each Clinician has a designated health center home. Some clinicians may have a regular split assignment across multiple centers, while Float Clinicians work at multiple sites as assigned. The position requires a qualifying advanced practice or physician assistant license in the state of planned clinical practice; cross-licensing may be required based on skills and organizational needs in other locations.
