About The Position

The Baird School offers an alternative educational environment for children aged 5-14 (grades K-8) whose needs cannot be adequately met in a traditional educational setting due to social, emotional, and/or behavioral challenges. Students engage in SEL, behavioral programming, and academic instruction to develop skills and strategies that will enable them to succeed in the least restrictive educational environment available to them. The Clinician - Baird School will provide mental health, consultation, and case management services to youth, using a Social Work model.

Requirements

Masters Degree in a mental health discipline
Experience working with youth with emotional/behavioral challenges
VT Clinical License or License Eligible and on the Roster of Non-Licensed, Non-Certified Psychotherapists
Valid driver's license and use of a personal vehicle

Nice To Haves

Vermont regulation mandates that individuals who are on the Roster of Nonlicensed Noncertified Psychotherapists, through the Office of Professional Regulation, must be actively working towards professional licensure. This rule does not apply to First Call for Chittenden County.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement treatment plans for students experiencing significant emotional/behavioral/environmental challenges
Provide services in school, home and community settings
Provide services/support at multiple levels including: individual, family, group, staff/team, classroom and school community
Provide supportive counseling and collateral contact to students and families in order to facilitate success in reaching treatment goals
Conduct clinical assessments and diagnosis
Provide crisis prevention and intervention
Educate/Consult with school staff about mental health issues, poverty, marginalization and disenfranchisement
Clinical documentation and record keeping in compliance with Agency requirements
