About The Position

The Child and Adolescent Clinician diagnoses and treats mental and emotional disorders—including cognitive, affective, and behavioral disorders—within the context of family systems. The role provides outpatient counseling services to adolescents seeking help for substance use disorders and co-occurring behavioral health issues. This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt, office-based position in Roseville, Michigan, for 15–18 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during afternoon and evening hours. The compensation is $31.00 per hour. Benefits include professional liability insurance and paid credentials.

Requirements

Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or another related and applicable field.
Active licensure or certification appropriate to the professional field and governing body (for example, LLMSW, LMSW, or LPC).
Certification by the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals as a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC), or a registered development plan that is implemented on time.

Responsibilities

Conduct screenings and comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments for adolescents seeking outpatient counseling for substance use disorders and co-occurring behavioral health issues, following best practices and agency policies and procedures and identifying a diagnosis.
Provide counseling to adolescents while maintaining fidelity to evidence-based practices.
Develop and implement therapeutic treatment plans using a family-centered philosophy.
Plan and administer therapeutic interventions, including Motivational Enhancement Therapy and Contingency Management for Youth Addiction, to help clients manage symptoms and meet treatment goals.
Assess and provide services at the appropriate level of care, including effective interventions for the presenting issue.
Complete and maintain assigned paperwork according to funding-source standards and CARE of SEM policies and procedures.
Provide presentations on general substance use issues and CARE of SEM services as needed.
