About The Position

The Clinician provides confidential, compassionate, professional, and culturally competent healthcare within their state-specific licensure and scope of practice, following PPGNHAIK medical standards, protocols, and evidence-based care. Under the supervision and direction of an assigned Lead Clinician or Clinician Manager, the Clinician examines, screens, diagnoses, and treats patients, including for reproductive health concerns such as preventive care, contraception, sexually transmitted infections, pregnancy, gender-affirming hormone care, and common gynecological conditions. The Clinician identifies emergencies, follows up on abnormal findings when designated, and seeks consultation or makes referrals when care falls beyond their scope or affiliate protocols require it. The role supports health center quality, workflow, efficiency, and operational performance in partnership with the Health Center Manager. Responsibilities include accurate electronic health record documentation and timely charge entry with appropriate diagnosis and CPT codes, meeting clinician productivity benchmarks, supporting a positive patient experience, and serving as a clinical resource for the care team. The role may delegate to support staff as allowed by state regulations and may participate in organizational research, education, and professional development. Unless specifically requested by the Clinician Manager, the position is 100% clinical; administrative tasks may be assigned as needed. Clinicians are assigned a level on the clinician ladder according to demonstrated proficiency. Clinicians at level 2 and above may precept and mentor newly hired clinicians and, when approved, external learners. Additional skills and advancement opportunities depend on existing skills, independent learning, collaborative work, and organizational needs, and may not be available at every location. Each Clinician has a designated health center home; some may have scheduled assignments at multiple centers, while float clinicians work at multiple sites as assigned. This position is based at the Fairbanks, Alaska Health Center.
