About The Position

The University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus, School of Dental Medicine welcomes applications from exceptional candidates for a full-time, clinical track Prosthodontics faculty in the Department of Restorative Dentistry. The Department of Restorative Dentistry is home to various disciplines that include Comprehensive Care, Prosthodontics, Operative Dentistry and Occlusion. The successful candidate will be an outstanding clinician-educator with interest in, and commitment to clinical care, teaching, and scholarship; candidates will have demonstration. The Department of Restorative Dentistry is one of the largest departments that support the mission areas of education, research, patient care and community engagement at the University of Colorado, School of Dental Medicine (CUSDM). Faculty who specialize in prosthodontics specialize in treating complex dental and facial matters, including the restoration and replacement of missing or damaged teeth with artificial devices. They are highly trained in a variety of procedures (i.e., implants, crowns, bridges, dentures, jaw disorders). The department fulfils this charge through multi-disciplinary professional collaboration and teaching in the areas of Restorative Dentistry, to include: Comprehensive Care, Prosthodontics, Operative Dentistry and Occlusion. Requirements

  • A DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited U.S. dental school or foreign equivalent
  • Eligibility for a Colorado dental license
  • A three-year residency and education through an ADA-accredited (approved) prosthodontic graduate program
  • CODA approved certificate or equivalent of Prosthodontics specialty
  • An American Board of Prosthodontics certification exam
  • Assistant Professor: Applicants will usually have some successful teaching experience and will be expected to teach and/or provide clinical care
  • Associate Professor: Applicants will have demonstrated considerable evidence of successful teaching and demonstrated leadership and service.
  • Professor: Applicants will demonstrate outstanding career accomplishments in teaching, and/or providing clinical care, a record of leadership, and a meritorious leadership and service record.

  • Candidates who have a dental specialty should be dental specialty board eligible

Responsibilities

  • Teaching, research, and clinical service duties.
  • Direct mentoring of students.
  • Supervision of undergraduate dental students in our dental clinics.
  • Potential consultation with our graduate clinics.
  • Didactic, pre-clinical teaching as well as clinical supervision.
  • Participation in academic endeavors, including the educational conferences, research and scholarly activities of the section and the department.
  • Attendance at the meetings and educational events of the section and department.
  • Participation in the School of Dental Medicine’s Dental Faculty Practice for private patient care is available.
