About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for working with youth and/or their families in an office-based setting as well as providing services within a school setting. Additionally, the Clinical Therapist participates in on-call hours each week to assist law enforcement and the local community with youth who have runaway or have been locked out of their home. The ideal candidate can adapt to providing services in many contexts and with youth and families that present with a wide range of concerns. Our therapists are team-oriented while also being self-motivated. The role involves providing individual, group, and family counseling services to youth and families between the ages of 10 and 25. It also requires providing counseling services in a school setting with middle school-aged or high school-aged youth to help them learn skills related to school issues. Collaboration with community partners, such as schools, police departments, juvenile probation, DCFS case workers, and mental health agencies/hospitals, is essential. The therapist will maintain client records in an electronic health record, provide data and reports as needed, and adhere to agency policy on confidential mental health records. The position also involves providing community information and linkage to referral services, and assisting with crisis coverage as part of the 24-hour crisis response system for CCBYS. This includes providing crisis intervention and advocacy services to at-risk youth for family preservation, reunification, and stabilization.
