The Clinical Therapist will complete intakes for new clients entering the residential program, coordinate the development and ongoing implementation of each client’s individual treatment plan, and provide all necessary individual, group, and family treatment as indicated by the treatment needs of the client. This role involves evaluating clients’ progress on treatment goals and objectives in conjunction with the treatment team, client, and family, and chairing initial and quarterly treatment plan meetings. The therapist will coordinate discharge planning as an ongoing process of treatment, maintain regular contact with Department for Community Based Services (DCBS) workers and others involved in the client’s treatment, and provide family therapy when indicated. Responsibilities include assessing, developing, and evaluating client goals and objectives, completing documentation such as therapy notes, summaries, treatment plans, and assessment forms within regulatory guidelines. The therapist will also assume a leadership role in the cottage treatment team, provide referral and linkage to community resources, and assist in crisis intervention efforts, including participating in physical management of clients when necessary and maintaining on-call responsibilities. A key aspect of this role is responding respectfully and effectively to people of all backgrounds, recognizing, affirming, and valuing the worth of individuals, families, and communities.
