About The Position
Inova Mount Vernon Hospital – Joints is seeking a Clinical Technician to provide direct patient care under the direct supervision of registered nurses. The technician communicates effectively with team members, patients, and visitors, and maintains professionalism and integrity throughout the healthcare system. Additional duties may be assigned. The role is PRN, with day or night shifts from 7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 7:00 PM–7:30 AM. The schedule includes rotating days, weekends, and holidays, with four shifts in a six-week period. Training includes six classroom-style sessions in Fairfax, Virginia (8:00 AM–4:30 PM), one virtual orientation day (9:00 AM–4:30 PM), and one virtual EPIC training session (8:00 AM–4:30 PM). Training dates are predetermined and fall Monday through Friday, and the first week of work follows a Monday–Friday schedule. Current Inova Clinical Technicians and rehires with less than one year away are exempt from the Clinical Technician Academy. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience as a clinical technician in an acute care setting, or acute care clinical experience completed through an accredited nursing program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, or ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds.
