Clinical Technician 1 - Medical Oncology
About The Position
Inova Alexandria Hospital’s Medical Oncology department is seeking a dedicated Clinical Technician. The role provides direct patient care under the direct supervision of registered nurses and requires effective communication with team members, patients, and visitors, along with professionalism and integrity throughout the healthcare system. Additional duties may be assigned. The position is full-time, with a stated schedule of 6:00 AM–6:30 PM, rotating days, weekends, and holidays. The first week requires a Monday–Friday schedule regardless of the position’s normal schedule. Training includes six classroom-style sessions in Falls Church, Virginia (8:00 AM–4:30 PM), one virtual orientation day (9:00 AM–4:30 PM), and one virtual EPIC training session (8:00 AM–4:30 PM). Training dates are preset and non-negotiable. Current Inova Clinical Technicians and rehires under one year are exempt from the Clinical Technician Academy.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, or obtain it within 90 days of hire.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds.
